OUR NEIGHBORS IN NEED

MISSION 1 CAMPAIGN

Today (11/1/11) begins our Mission 1 Program to raise funds for the Neighbors in Need offering, food for the hungry, and letters for our national leaders. Rev. Kent Siladi, UCC Conference Minister in Florida, shared the following prayer in his blog:

"God, we pray that as we begin the Mission 1 initiative we pray that we might sense the unity which binds us together. We give thanks for the saints who have gone before us on this All Saint’s Day and we are mindful of the cloud of witnesses who call us to share your love with the world. Bless this initiative by your Spirit and through your power. Amen."

Neighbors in Need (NIN) is a special mission offering of the UCC that supports ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States.  One-third of NIN funds support the Council for American Indian Ministry(CAIM). Two-thirds of the offering is used by the UCC's Justice and Witness Ministries(JWM) to support a variety of justice initiatives, advocacy efforts, and direct service projects.
